This is a working draft, not the final policy. It says what Recess actually does today so nothing here is untrue, but a lawyer has not written or reviewed it. Version 2026-08-17-draft.

What Recess holds

Who else sees it

Recess is not the only company involved in running Recess. These are the ones that receive your data, and why:

Recess does not sell your data and does not run advertising.

Recording other people

If you connect Limitless, Recess reads recordings that contain other people's words. Getting their agreement is on you, not on us. Tell people when you are recording. It is the law in many places, and it is the decent thing anywhere.

The microphone

When you tap the mic and speak, the recording goes to Groq to be turned into text. Recess does not store it. The words come back into the message box for you to read and edit before anything is sent, and typing is always there instead.

How long it is kept

Asking for your data

Write to us and we will send you what we hold on you. That includes what you gave Recess and what Recess concluded about you. It does not include how the conclusions are made, which is ours.

Age

Recess is for adults. You must be 18 or older.
